"Too Soon For Sorry" is a piece designed for the poster series "Maximum Security Democracy," a project of the artist/activist group Resistant Strains, based in New York.
14 works, in edition of 1000 each were printed and distributed through activist groups in the U.S. working on prisoner support and against the prison industrial complex. This work has appeared on streets, in community spaces, and in some gallery spaces. This piece deliberately complicates the form and content of a traditional political poster by abandoning simplistic sloganeering and delineating a complex connection between the legacy of slavery and the prison industrial complex, in which slavery is still practiced.
