Besides this, we thought it is most appropriate for the seminar discussions, and as sociologists/anthropologist that you take an individual walking tour: every student is going to go on a walking tour by him/herself inspired by situationists tours: Following the instruction 2nd right, 1st left, 1st left we will (individually) walk through the area, without any purpose but trying to absorb ambiences, register changes, observe interactions and note practices. This initiation, which is supposed to disrupt our habitual perception of the area, will hopefully open up space for a multiplicity of different perceptions and ways of using this space.
In addition, every student is invited to bring one particular object into class that he or she considers in some respect representative of the area.
